Barcelona · every Saturday at 9:00
The friendliest running community in Barcelona
We run through the city with Ukrainian flags — to be together, and so that people here do not forget the war is still going on. Every run ends with a donation for the army.
Next run
Saturday, October 17, at 09:00
in 1 day and 5 hours
The meeting point is announced before each run on Instagram. You can just turn up, no need to tell us in advance.
The club in numbers
Figures from an article about the club published in January 2025.
You do not need to be a runner
Members range from four or five years old to people over sixty. Fitness level does not matter: the route and the pace are adapted to the group so everyone covers their own distance.
- Three symbolic kilometres — just for the company
- Ten kilometres — a proper training session
- The group sticks together, nobody is left behind
- Turn up without warning, no registration needed
Ukrainian (and not only) runners
That is what the organisers call the club themselves — because foreigners have been joining since the very first run.
Regulars include Spaniards and Latin Americans, a Japanese man who speaks fluent Ukrainian, a Canadian photojournalist and an Italian who has volunteered in Ukraine twice.
Asked why they pick this club out of the dozens in Barcelona, they always give the same answer:
“Because it always feels warm with you”
Not only running
In a year and a half the club has grown far beyond Saturday runs — everyone finds their own thing.
Saturday runs
Where it all started. Every Saturday, with Ukrainian flags, in any weather.
Padel
One of the biggest branches of the club. There was even a charity tournament — every euro went to the fund.
Volleyball
Regular games for people who prefer a team to a distance.
Tennis
Another court sport for those who came for something other than running.
Hiking
Days out in the hills around Barcelona — a whole day on your feet and no stopwatch.
Climbing and slackline
Club lessons for beginners: gear, belay and your first metres on the wall.
Where the donations go
No club event happens without collecting donations: abroad, it is one of the most effective things you can do for the people who keep normal life possible back home.
Everything raised goes to the Hurkit fund, which buys weapons and equipment for air-defence units. As a thank-you, the fund engraved a mention of the Barcelona community on grenade launchers handed over to the 71st brigade.
Come along on Saturday
You do not need to know how to run, you do not need to register, you do not need to pay. Just turn up — everything else is explained on the spot.
